The regulation allows an additional 99,000 tonnes of beef from Mercosur countries to be imported into the EU under a 7.5% discount tariff; this measure will be implemented gradually over six years. It also enables 180,000 tonnes of additional poultry meat to enter the EU market under a lower tariff. Brazil's agricultural and food sector exports have increased by 14.8% in value during May–September 2026.
