Consumption of the affected products is advised against, and they are to be returned to the point of sale where they were purchased. These products are sold in selected natural product stores operated by Denns BioMarkt. Salmonella-contaminated foods can cause symptoms such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting and fever; infants, young children, the elderly and individuals with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk of severe illness, according to the companies.
Also based in Norderstedt, Peter Faden GmbH & Co. KG has recalled 14 beef salami products with minimum endurance dates between 23 October and 22 December 2026. The products range from Rinder-Peperonisalami to Pizza-Rindfleischsalami. The company stated that the recall was precautionary and that a single investigation identified Escherichia coli (STEC) producing Shigatoxin. These bacteria can cause serious gastrointestinal disorders, particularly in children, pregnant individuals, the elderly and those with immunosuppressed conditions.
